Howdy there!! Tonight's the big night, though I'll know the winners
before you will...I'll call you after it's started in your time zone..so
just in case you care at all, here's my annual picks and predictions..in
what I think is going to be an interesting race..by the way, bought and
saw Training Day yesterday...disappointing ending, good performances,
though I'd never award Ethan Hawke..he did a decent job, but nothing
outstanding... on now with the list...
Best Picture..I predict Beautiful Mind..Best Director, Ron Howard, and
Kudos to him...best actor, prediction: Sean Penn..I dunno, I haven't
seen most of them..best actress, I predict:Nicole Kidman...my pick:Halle
Berry(despite the Pepsi commercial)..supporting actor: prediction:Ben
Kingsley, and I'd pick him too, he was AWESOME...supporting actress WILL
be Jennifer Connely..adapted screenplay: prediction:In the Bedroom, but
I'd root for Ghost World..original screenplay: I'm going with
Memento..Art Direction: Moulin Rouge, Cinematography: Lord of the
Rings..Costumes to Lord of the Rings, Score to Williams for Harry
Potter, editing should and will go to Memento, same with Visual effects
to Lord of the Rings, as well as makeup....sound will be a nod to Moulin
Rouge, Shrek is it for animated feature, and Amelie is a foreign film
virtual guarantee...of course, this is ALL so damn iffy...looking
