Paul Preston & Karen Volpe

What is Preston and Volpe?

At it’s most fundamental, Preston & Volpe is Paul Preston and Karen Volpe, a comedy duo based in Los Angeles. What they deliver is original comedy performances and material for any occasion and any medium.

A Preston & Volpe live show guarantees inventive improvisation and comedy sketches, plus material can be suited to any event or party and the results are always hilarious. Plus Paul and Karen together or individually make a great MC for any function.

Paul and Karen are also established union actors in Los Angeles, keeping themselves busy onstage (including an 8 month stint with Disney Cruise Line) as well as in front of the camera.

Paul and Karen came together in the ninties when they realized they had a strong love of the same thing - comedy. They were inspired by the works of Gilda Radner and Steve Martin, Monty Python, Albert Brooks and Nichols & May. Together they began writing original material, quite often with Karen providing outrageous ideas, and Paul scripting them into funny sketches. They’ve worked together in this way for over 10 years.

Early, they performed in the Regional Showcase at the Lucille Ball Festival of New Comedy to great response. That success led to other shows in Western NY, where they began their career. They soon expanded their performances countrywide. Their original comedy show 'Dial 10-10-Y2K' has performed in both Chicago and New York City. They've also performed for business clients ranging from Pepsi to Amoco Chemical. And they've also provided improv workshops for schools and private events. In the late ninties, they participated in a residency at Jamestown Community College where they taught acting, improvisation and directed a student performance.

Now they live in L.A. and bring their talent to all sorts of projects - Film & TV, movie premieres, live events, and with Paul's production company, Digital Mind Productions, LLC, they're creating their own short films and audio and video content. Not to mention continuing to take their ever-evolving show out of town numerous times a year.
